About TeleData / Environmental Policy
The environmental impact and policies that organisations have are becoming increasingly important factors for businesses to consider. There are a number of myths that data centres are not green and consume large amount of power unnecessarily - this is not the case.
While cooling requires the use of energy, the concentration of server equipment in a facility using a highly efficient cooling infrastructure lowers the amount of overall power required for cooling. When server equipment is concentrated and cooling is shared by a number of independent businesses, it uses less energy than would be required  when server equipment is distributed across diverse site locations.
Data Centre cooling reduces the carbon footprint of each of the businesses who chose to house their server equipment in an efficient, correctly specified, and well run data centre facility.
TeleData is  committed to being as environmentally efficient as possible. TeleData monitors and analyses all of their energy consumption and the data centre environment in great detail, identifying and implementing best practice to ensure efficiencies. In addition to TeleData’s commitment to ensuring efficiencies, it  ensures that an allocation of the energy they use is from renewable energy sources, that all waste generated by the data centre is recycled and are continually investigating to introduce further efficiencies in energy. In addition, 2011 will see TeleData announcing a series of innovative initiatives later this year which will reduce its carbon footprint even further.
